Gilbane Building Company is seeking its next Business Leader to lead, motivate, and continue success our business in Texas. You will be responsible for the overall success of the Texas market. This role will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the Texas Business with primary accountability for the following:

  • Meet established Sales/Gross Profit goals for the Geography.
  • Take action to prevent erosion, forecast slippage, risks and project financial performance within the Geography.
  • Develop, document and execute business strategy for the Geography.
  • Leverage Shared Services and implement One Company systems, programs and processes per the Baseline.
  • Be an entrepreneur (business savvy), create deep relationships and experience to be the face of the market including the understanding of the local dynamics (business environment, politics, etc.).
  • Identify and secure new clients and drive client satisfaction.
  • Understand Competitive Intelligence and how to position Gilbane within the Geography.
  • Lead and actively participate in pre/post award activities including go/no go, kickoff meetings, management reviews, fee-pro review, contract review, estimate/GMP review, contract negotiations.
  • Monitor safety results on all projects and, in collaboration with Safety Director, implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Drive and lead Employee Engagement and Retention for the Geography.
  • Serve as a Principal on key projects.
  • Model efforts for Gilbane Cares, Inclusion and Diversity, ESG and Gilbane's Core Values.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 15+ years of construction experience most recently within Texas.
  • Successfully managed a book of business of $250mm+ and 5+ direct reports.
  • Proven record of delivering safety, financial, client, and people management results in a complex business.
  • Experience in building, developing, and leading teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills balanced approachability and openness to others' ideas.
  • Robust financial and technical acumen.
  • Strategic thinker with a detailed and structured thought process.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead multiple teams effectively.
  • Advanced skills in presentation, negotiation, skills and facilitation.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
