Assist campus and non-campus administrators in safeguarding textbooks and adhering to policies and procedures adopted by the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Maintain all records of textbook activity including textbook distribution and transfer from all schools within the district.
Collect all funds from the schools for the sale of textbooks and control funds until the textbooks are replaced.
Oversee all textbooks charged to the district by the Texas Education Agency.
Oversee all textbooks requisitions for the district.
Receive all textbook shipments for the district, including the official sample textbooks and Prospectus, and identify shipment errors and discrepancies.
Report all publishers who fail to ship samples.
Coordinate all shipments of textbooks from the district.
Plans, prepares, and disseminates written instruction designed to facilitate the textbook delivery system.
Creating a yearly reporting calendar for use by all schools within the district.
Works in collaboration with TEA and Region 10 to determine changes in textbook requirements.
Works in collaboration with technology department to enhance and generate reports comparable to TEA reports.
Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in School Administration.
Five years of directly related experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of Public Education Information Management (PEIMS).
Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring Textbooks department in accordance with local, state, and federal policies.
Demonstrated ability to submit accurate reports promptly.
Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of administration.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written format.
Organizational, communication, customer service, supervisory and interpersonal skills are required to achieve the goals of the position.
Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment.
