The First-Line Supervisor Grow Team Leader oversees and organizes the daily operations of the mushroom farm grow rooms including automated controls. The purpose of this position is to lead the grow team workers, production, and growth efficiency, to make sure the farm is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently, and safely. This includes directing the ideal growth of superior quality organic mushrooms from substrate stage to packaged product.Job Title: First-Line Supervisor Grow Team Leader - Farming Fungi LLCPosition Location: Springvale, MaineFull-/Part-Time: Full-timeRegular/Temporary: RegularSalary: $51,605-$65,575 annual paid bi-weekly, including 3 weeks paid vacation, one week paid sick time, 5 paid holidays per yearResponsibilities: Build and foster a sustainable company cultureAchieve key metrics: A) operational and process excellence resulting in superior mushroom product quality; B) customer satisfaction; C) collaborate with team to achieve farm's financial goalsDirect the daily activities of the Grow Areas according to weekly/monthly goals, reached through collaboration with the management teamParticipate and report end of month physical inventory, COGS, and overall productionOversee the maintenance of grow rooms and equipmentCollaborate with production staff for substrate birthingOptimize fruiting cycles of mushroomsManage harvesting and timing of harvestingCommunicate with the packing team on needs of order fulfillmentsGenerate & edit SOPs related to Grow Areas for management reviewTrain & direct team in maintaining proper health & hygiene standards in accordance with GAP Food Safety PlanManage grow cycles & cycle rotationMaintain Lot Traceability throughout mushroom life cycleEnsure proper environmental control useUtilize control program & room recipes effectivelyOversee order packing/fulfillmentMaintain cleanliness of grow spaces, process spaces & select common spacesWork with Operations Manager on assessment of weekly mushroom yields for order fulfillmentAppraise performance and offer feedback on Grow Team membersProvide input on new hires for Grow TeamCollaborate on development of new mushroom growing/fruiting processes with Management TeamMaximize operational effectiveness and strategic position of the businessUnderstand & troubleshoot HVAC system for climate controlsTrain staff on wet bulb/dry bulb humidistats and climate controlsManage air circulation and disbursement in grow rooms Qualifications: Master's degree in Mycology and 5 years of post-baccalaureate relevant work experience in the mushroom industryExperience with growing Shiitake, Beech, Grey Oyster, King Oyster, and Maitake mushroomsManagement experience: 1 year (Required)Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong leadership skills and strategic thinkingAbility to support & execute team decisionsStrong organizational skills & follow-throughAbility to develop personnel and foster a collaborative cultureOrganized and able to meet deadlines Benefits: Paid time off3 weeks paid vacation, one week paid sick time, 5 paid holidays per year Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
