Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Shift Manger, this individual is primarily responsible for working in the lodge, collecting daily rink admissions, skate rental fees and concession sales. Administers first aid as needed, answers the phone, provides general information pertaining to The Landing Ice Rink, and maintains constant contact with the public, visitors, and patrons.
Responsibilities
AREAS OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES
Responsible for opening, securing, and closing facility according to policy. Must be organized and have good customer relations and service skills. Answer phone calls for the facility and interact with the public in a kind and courteous manner. Must be able to use a cash register and computer point-of-sale system accurately. Must be comfortable with the handling of all monies, debit/credit cards, and banking materials, and keep accurate accounts for daily deposits. Must keep workstation area neat and orderly. Restock concession, resale, and admission items as needed. Inventory of food, beverage, and merchandise. Manage facility music approved by employer and make general announcements to patrons over PA system. Know and enforce safety standards and policies of the facility and skating rink. Must have reliable transportation and must be able to work all scheduled hours, including early afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Attend regular staff meetings and in-services. When necessary, complete accurate and appropriate paperwork. Perform the basic first aid and CPR/AED skills if necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule will take place primarily November through February, or as weather permits. Variable schedule working afternoon weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. The potential for a year-round schedule may be discussed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Education:
Requires a level of education competency normally acquired through a minimum of two (2) years of high school.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in customer service and money handling. Ability to ice skate comfortably is preferred, but not required.
Interpersonal Skills:
Must be able to interpret and enforce all skating rules and policies. Must be able to work with a diverse population and a variety of ages. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the public, including the part-time and full-time staff, and be able to deal in a persuasive manner.
Analytical Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Must be able to operate, in an efficient and safe manner, all equipment required for this position and in accordance with City policy and direction.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
The employee works primarily indoors, but will occasionally work in outside weather conditions, being exposed to extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Requirements:
Individual must have proper certification for CPR/AED and First Aid. If not currently certified, this training will be provided by employer.

Reports to: Recreation Coordinator - The Landing
Supervision: This position has no responsibility for the supervision of others.
