Overview:
Foundations for Home and Community, a non-profit organization established in 2000, provides therapeutic / specialized foster care services in Maryland. Youth served in Foundations typically have abandonment, family, emotional, and behavioral issues, as well as educational and community-related concerns. We specialize in providing an innovative approach to working with at-risk youth and their families. We apply Systems of Care principles to create public/private community partnerships that:
- Build on the strengths of the youth and their families
- Teach life skills to youth and their families
- Help youth and their families to develop alternative coping strategies
- Support cultural diversity
Responsibilities:
The Therapuetic Foster Care Social Worker will:
- Provides comprehensive family based foster care and adoption child case management services and comprehensive family case management services to assigned cases.
- Complies with all deadlines for reports.
- Participates in Family Treatment Team Meetings and other required meetings on the case.
- Attends court hearings on assigned cases as required.
- Provides emergency back-up services after working hours when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of LBSW or LGSW
- Two or more years' direct clinical services experience with children, adolescents, and/or adults and families. Previous foster care or case management experience strongly preferred.
