Job Title: Therapeutic Support StaffSupervisor: Youth Programs ManagerStatus: Per Diem, Non-exempt (2 - 20 hours/week)Qualifications
  • Desire to work with varying populations while supporting TEEG's mission
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree (or currently enrolled) in human services, social work, education, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with flexible hours and duties
  • Clean record with State Police Bureau of Identification, Department of Children and Families and Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Possesses a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of registration and motor vehicle insurance
  • Respect for persons without regard to age, race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, pregnancy, transgender status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, genetic information, marital/civil union status, veteran status, uniformed servicemember status or socioeconomic status
Certifications
  • Mandated Reporting (training to be provided)
  • CPR & First Aid (training to be provided)
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Daily working hours may vary to meet client availability and agency needs, including occasional evening and weekend requirements
  • Frequent local travel in a personal or agency vehicle
  • Occasional one-on-one interactions with clients who may exhibit an emotionally heightened or withdrawn state and/or with behavioral diagnoses that may require de-escalation, crisis prevention or intervention
  • Frequent in person, virtual and/or telephonic oral communication and listening
Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly one-on-one mentoring services to youth referred by DCF, community health partners, schools, juvenile review boards or youth service bureaus for a minimum of six months
  • Establish and track goals for youth while providing prosocial experiences, educational opportunities, and creating positive community connections
  • Complete and submit accurate and thorough timesheets, progress notes, and expense reports within 24 hours of mentoring session with assigned youth(s)
  • Participate monthly in supervision with Youth Programs Manager and Consulting Clinical Psychologist to determine best approaches for successful youth outcomes
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and agency data and records
  • Attend professional development opportunities as required
