- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours:9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)

Responsibilities:
The CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) will:
- Reviewmedical records and verifyMDs orders and the Occupational Therapists assessment prior to implementing OT treatment
- Communicatewith supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, CNS status, the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs (e.g., ADL devices).
- Conferwith Physician and other Healthcare Practitioners to obtain additional information on persons receiving services
- Writespecific, objective, and measurable documentation, which is outcome oriented and details the persons receiving services needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to date
- Providetraining to persons receiving services, families and/or direct care staff in specific supportive programs
- Participateand attendcare plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT services
- Implementa treatment plan, includingROM, therapeutic exercise, cognitive/perceptual re-training, ADL, wheelchair mobility, pre-vocational skills, and application of physical agent modalities
- Handle other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant school
- NYS CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA)license
- Knowledge in the use of mobility devices and therapeutic exercises
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience with wheelchair assessment
- Experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
