Job Description:

The Therapist is a valuable member of our behavioral health program who provides evaluation, psycho-social education, mentoring, and treatment services to clients and assists clients in developing and accomplishing treatment goals in individual and group settings. Provides consultation and education to community groups and emergency services.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who

* Involved in quality improvement activities on an ongoing basis (such as implementing processes as a result of performance measurement reviews, participation in councils and teams, and making suggestions to improve a process).

* May provide clinical consultation to other staff as agreed upon with the Program Coordinator.

* Serve as a backup for problem-solving and decision-making in the absence of program managers and or may supervise students /interns as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

* Provides community education services as assigned and as self-initiated.

* May assist in the facilitation of client transportation.

Crisis Care Program

* Supervises Peer Advocates or practicum students as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

* Responds to inquiries, gives appropriate information and referrals, and documents, if necessary.

* Maintains an awareness of and professional involvement/collaboration with community resources.

Schedule:

Monday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Tuesday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm

Wednesday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Thursday - 8:30 am - 8:00 pm

Friday - Off Conduct crisis intervention/evaluation/referral for persons present at the program.

* Performs initial evaluations and assessments of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the program.

* Provides direct services to clients including individual and group treatment.

* Focuses on client empowerment in providing treatment, seeking to assist clients to build strengths to meet their treatment needs.

* Facilitates with clients and collaborates with the treatment team to develop, review, and update treatment goals and referrals internally and externally.

* Provide education and direction to clients, family members, and/or significant others.

* Provide an atmosphere of customer service in assuring that clients are treated in a friendly and respectful manner. Displays positive attitudes and behaviors in the accomplishment of job duties.

* Acquires and utilizes knowledge of LCHD/CHC database and word processing software and other equipment commensurate with position.

* Meet minimum productivity expectations.

* Organizes and participates in treatment-related clinical conferences and staffings on assigned clients.

* Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards.

* Participates in collection of client fees including completing forms for third-part coverage and discussing balances due with clients, as appropriate.

* Participates in staff meetings, in-service training, and seminars to facilitate professional growth and maintain licensure if required.

* Provides emergency evaluations of clients regarding their need for involuntary hospitalization, if meet the criteria as a qualified examiner.

* Serves as an LPHA and/or QMHP, which includes reviewing and signing clinical assessments, individual treatment plants, and other appropriate clinical documentation.

* Coordinates weekly clinical staffings and provides clinical consultation as directed by the Program Coordinator.

Consistent with Community-Based Mental Health Professional Qualifications as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP):

* Master's degree in a related field, and

* Successful completion of 1,000 practicum hours, or

* One (1) year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a QMHP
