Primary Responsibilities will be assigned based on the needs of the agency and shelter, which may change at the discretion of the Center Director. Primary Responsibilities may include some or all the following: Provision of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. When assigned this responsibility, the LPHA will provide short term, time limited, therapy services to adults experiencing homelessness who are diagnosed with severe or persistent mental illness, and/or substance use disorder. The LPHA will work closely with the individual and the treatment team to develop a person-centered recovery plan, outlining the goals and objectives specific to that individual. The LPHA will use approved therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Provision of Comprehensive Intake Assessments. When assigned this responsibility, the LPHA will be responsible for conducting comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments and providing DSM-V diagnostic determination for individuals experiencing homelessness. The LPHA will provide a Uniform Assessment to these individuals, as well as a Brief Risk Assessment, Patient Health Questionnaire, and CAGE assessment for individuals with a suspected substance use issue. The LPHA will determine eligibility for mental health services as dictated by Texas Health and Human Services and Hill Country MHDD eligibility requirements. The LPHA will work closely with the individual during the intake process to appropriately identify mental health needs of the individual. Provision of Trauma Therapy: When assigned this responsibility, the LPHA will provide Trauma Focused Therapy services to individuals meeting eligibility criteria. The LPHA will work closely with the individual and the treatment team to develop a person-centered recovery plan. The LPHA will use approved therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Licensed Professionals of the Healing Arts are expected to be flexible in their assigned responsibilities and assist the shelter in other roles as needed and as their license allows. Office hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; however, the position must have flexible hours to accommodate individuals who cannot meet during regular business hours. You will get to: Promote and maintain a Trauma Informed, Person Centered environment for all clientele and staff. Provide clinically appropriate therapy to adults, either individually or in a group/family format Conduct comprehensive biophysical intake assessments to determine the need for mental health services. Complete on-going diagnostic updates and assessments as needed. Ensure all individuals have a current Person-Centered Recover Plan (PCRP) that includes counseling as an intervention Participates in development of PCRP with assigned Care Coordinator or develops PCRP when appropriate. Does collaborative and concurrent documentation for therapy assessments at least 95% of the time. Documents all services to include kept appointments, no-shows, cancellations by individuals and self. Assures quality service for all clients by enforcing rules, regulations and legal requirements with clients, documenting the events of a therapeutic process in a confidential manner. Responsible for client no-show rate of no higher than 25% and staff kept appointment rates no lower than 90%. Enters and updates schedule in electronic health records scheduler to reflect real-time information. Participate in professional trainings (priority is CBT, CPT and TF-CBT) and staff development trainings. Attend and participate in staff meetings, case conferences, inter-disciplinary team meetings and individual/group supervision, as well as any team meetings with shelter staff. Assists in the provision of clinical supervision to the Qualified Mental Health Providers and other staff by way of in-service training, presentations, workshops, etc. Maintain current professional licensure in good standing without lapse. Maintain CANS/ANSA certification Provide therapy services in multiple settings, to include shelter setting. Provide biopsychosocial assessments in person or via tele-video. Participate in clinical supervision as scheduled Participate in on-going training conference calls, as needed, to gain certifications in CPT, TF-CBT or CBT. Collaborate with multiple service providers to coordinate quality care. Qualifications You'll definitely need: Must be able to meet Hill Country MHDD standard for CBT competency within 1 year of hire. Responsible for staying current in mandated training and receive additional training as appropriate Maintain LPC, LCSW license 3 years clinical experience providing therapy to adults with a severe and persistent mental illness, as well as those with a substance use disorder. (preferred) 2 years clinical experience in a position responsible for making diagnosis determination. To complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training. To have a valid Texas State Driver's License. To have current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary. Maintain a well-organized schedule and travel as necessary to ensure completion of duties. Maintain accurate and timely collaborative documentation with adherence to HIPPA regulations. Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations. Provide exemplary customer service and care to individuals with their best interest at heart. Work autonomously to complete assignments within community and HHSC standards with a high level of quality. Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
