Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Nursing ExternshipsThomas Jefferson University Hospital Nursing Externships are paid work experience opportunities offered to nursing students at Jefferson University Hospital. Orientations are held every month.Eligible students must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed one semester of hospital medical or surgical clinical experience before applying. Nursing externs are temporary, part-time positions that give nursing students real-life experience in the nursing field.Externs will work two eight-hour shifts in the day or evening throughout the school year, and during the summer. They generally work every other weekend as well.The externship is offered by Jefferson University Hospital, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In addition to work experience, nursing students will meet other students and have opportunities to explore historic Philadelphia and visit its many museums and attractions.
