Job Description:

Position Summary

The Roller Operator will set-up and operate thread roller equipment. This individual will possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Follow all safety rules.

Operating understanding of thread roller machines.

Set-up, adjust, and operate equipment as required.

Read and understand prints.

Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.

Move material by operating a forklift or using non-motorized devices as needed.

Perform minor preventive maintenance such as oil, filter changes and daily requirements.

Work with tooling and maintenance personnel to maximize production efficiencies.

Train and assist other operators and department personnel as needed.

Suggest and implement process improvement ideas.

Maintain clean, orderly work area

Perform the duties required to record data for SPC, ISO/IATF 16949 documentation.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications-Education/Experience

Required:

Ability to use all gauges and gauging techniques required.

Ability to set-up and operate one or more sizes/types of manufacturing equipment.

Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards

Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.

Good communication and teamwork skills, including written communication as needed.

Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.

Leadership skill and ability to train others.

Use math skills for blueprint reading and SPC.

Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine requirements to perform basic and repetitive work assignments.

Previous problem solving and troubleshooting skills/experience.

Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.

Preferred:

Minimum one to three years' experience in a direct or related field.

Formal mechanical or technical training.

Forklift operation/material-handling experience.
