Position Summary:This position will work with both corporate and community-oriented customers to sell new and renewal ticket plans, group tickets, catered events and suite rentals for the Chesapeake Baysox.The successful candidate will be expected to use cold calls, face to face meetings and other marketing methods to build lasting relationships with local organizations and individuals. The ability to work as part of a team is a MUST!Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively prospect, research and sell ticket plans and group ticket packages, including nightly rental of luxury suites, premium party areas and seating bowl options through various sales means including extensive cold calling
- Use of full catalog of inventory items (group seating, full and partial season ticket packages, food & beverage options, suites, meeting spaces, etc.) to customize a comprehensive hospitality package that fits client's needs
- Make recommendations to the Director of Ticket Sales concerning opportunities to grow department sales
- Maximize sales within operational structure set forth by Director of Ticket Sales
- Service incoming sales calls from prospects
- Meet and exceed sales goals in the areas of season and partial ticket packages and group sales
- Generate marketing ideas and work with Marketing Department to augment group sales opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of all ticket customers
- Provide superior customer service to clients including existing ticket holders, prospects and single game customers
- Sell other special projects as needed
- Be present at all home games and special events to service customers, establish new relationships and help manage game day duties
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Director of Ticket Sales
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in Sales, Marketing or Business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service problem solving skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be willing and able to work extended hours including, nights, weekends and holidays
- Written and verbal fluency in Spanish a plus
- Minor League Baseball experience preferred but not required
