Position: Title 1 Reading Tutor School: Charles Wright Elementary School Reports To: Principal Start Date: Immediate Compensation: $25.62 - $30.22 per hour worked; paid for hours worked only Benefits: Position carries no entitlement to healthcare or paid time-off benefits Hours: 25 hours/week (182 school days) Application Date: Posting will remain open until filled Wethersfield Public Schools has an opening for a Title 1 Reading Tutor at Charles Wright Elementary School and we are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support. Working under the reading or curriculum specialist, the tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted reading intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade level expectations and goal mastery. Responsibilities: ? Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support; ? Work directly with students to provide one-on-one, small group instruction or push into classrooms; ? Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement; ? Support student understanding of reading fluency skills; ? Track and maintain records of student progress; ? Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges and changes in interventions; ? Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs that promotes increased reading/learning performance. Qualifications: ? Hold minimum of an Associates' Degree; ? Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required; ? Enthusiasm for helping children; ? Respectful attitude; ? Ability to manage plans and drive positive results; ? Patience; ?
