Our Title Group is a full-service title, settlement, underwriting and vendor management services company serving real estate companies, affinity groups, government municipalities, corporations, and financial institutions in support of residential and commercial real estate transactions.
We are currently seeking an Abstractor/Title Examiner to join our Abstract Services/Customer Service team. This is a remote work position that will be done from a home office located in any state and will follow a central time zone work schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
• Search and examine public records to determine a property's status of title.
• Responsible for assembling various non-insured property information reports, direct interaction with clients.
• Review documents affecting title to property, such as mortgages, deeds, probate records, trust agreements etc.
• Read and interpret real estate documents, legal proceedings, maps, and surveys.
• Communicate effectively with customers, professional associations ( law firms, HOA groups, engineering firms ), peers, government municipalities, state agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3+ years abstract/title examination experience.
• Strong understanding of title examination process and procedures, related documentation, and their effect upon title.
• Residential and Acreage ( metes and bounds ) examination experience with Texas properties.
• Proficient in the use of Title Data (TIMS) title plant software, Deed Plotter software, have experience with County Government websites).
• Must have good research/ investigation skills and understand legal terms, be aware of new legal developments/legislation that affect real property.
• Excellent verbal/written skills and attention to detail, excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to prioritize according to departmental guidelines, have a high level of organization, ability to consistently meet deadlines, work with constantly changing priorities demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow procedures/processes.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use various software applications Microsoft Outlook, Word, Acrobat.
• Attention to detail combined with analytical and problem-solving skills.
