GA Foods is seeking a Production Lead to assist the Production Supervisor in set up and operation, as well as meeting all required standards of frozen meal assembly and/or packing operations. The ideal candidate will be a born leader who is looking to grow and advance within our company. The Production Lead individual will operate equipment such as the case sealer and label machine, direct line workers in the packaging department to meet production requirements, set up the line, provide operator assistance, set up for print, and apply labeling.
The Production Lead will be responsible for working side by side with line assembly workers and line supervisors facilitating the effective oversight of the production line to accommodate the proposed schedule for their shift.
Production Lead Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain an efficient production line.
- Effectively communicate through verbal or written instructions to the material handlers to reduce or eliminate downtime.
- Set up and operate assembly line following all specifications and high efficiencies on quality.
- Organizing and leading production line to produce orders as required.
- Work with computer equipment.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and timely manner (our process is primarily manual with machine assistance).
- Able to break down orders into components by case and pallets.
- Train and support line workers in the operation of the assembly line equipment.
- Coordinate material supply to the assembly line and finished goods flow to the warehouse and from the warehouse.
- Fulfill order requirements.
- Accurately track data for paperwork on the following:
- Recording waste
- Recording downtime
- Recording dates of meals
- Verifying correct labels
- Recording information on the Production Sheet
- Recording information on the Pallet Audit Sheet
- Accurately follow the NAV
- Reduce the amount of downtime by effectively managing your own time.
- Comply with the Production standards, efficiency, waste, overweight, pounds-per-man hour.
- Request items to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Other duties assigned by management.
Production Lead Requirements:
- Leadership skills/experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Good Math Skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Production Lead - Physical Demands:
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves, but is not limited to: food debris, odors, constant equipment noise, temperature extremes, wet areas/water, or similar elements most of the workday.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, grasp, stoop, squat, bend and stretch as needed throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks - primarily manual tasks - in a standing position for the entire shift.
- Amount of Time:
- Under 1/3: Walk, Talk or hear
- Over 2/3: See, Stand, Use hands to finger/handle/feel, Reach with hands and arms.
- Weight Lifting/Exertion Amount of Time:
- Under 1/3: Up to 25 lbs.
- Over 2/3: Up to 8 lbs.
