Early Child Development - ED Teacher Toddler / Preschool Early Child Development -Teacher Position Summary: Under the direction of the Center Director, the Teacher is responsible for maintaining a warm, healthy environment to promote the total growth and well-being of the children in the program. This role will be particularly critical in: 1. Know, understand and implement Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations. 2. Know, understand and implement the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards and guidelines. 3. Know, understand and implement QRIS Standards. Qualifications: • Must minimally meet Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Regulation 7.09(c) for Teacher Certification. • Must have or be willing to earn within 3 months of employment and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications. • Comply with health requirements for staff according to EEC regulation 7.09(11) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards Essential Functions: This person will play an important part in the work that we do each day. In addition to all other duties as assigned, this role will: • Teaching, role modeling and functioning of the classroom. • Must continuously stoop, crawl, kneel, and bend in order to speak to children at the child's eye level; to play with children indoors and outdoors, and to pick up toys from the floor. • Continuously maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times to ensure their safety in the classroom, playground and field trips. • Meet with parents at parent conferences anytime during the Academic year. • Develop a relationship and maintain communication with community organizations and other external individuals and organizations of influence for the Agency. • Attend training, staff meetings and professional development opportunities. • Planning and implementation of a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with State Core Competencies, Early Learning Framework. • Establish positive and productive relationships with families. • In the Lead Teachers absence, responsible for guidance and direction of teaching techniques and behavior management techniques of other classroom teaching staff, as well as guidance of other auxiliary personal assigned to the classroom (volunteers, interns, foster grandparents, student teachers etc.). • To work as a member of a team with others in the classroom and the program. • Responsible for completing all reports and forms. • Maintain both daily written and verbal communication with parents/guardians as applicable. • This list of responsibilities is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be adjusted to meet the operational needs.
