Job Description:
Job Title: Tool and Die DesignerJob DescriptionThe Tool and Die Designer will be responsible for designing new tools and stamping dies using Inventor. This role involves managing the bill of materials for all designs, creating and updating detailed drawings for manufacturing, and collaborating with engineers to develop conceptual, preliminary, and detail designs. The designer will review completed designs with customers to ensure they meet specifications and quotes. Additionally, the designer will consult with customers and the engineering team during design review meetings to address customer requirements, production issues, and timing considerations. They may also need to use measuring devices to modify existing tooling for new or ongoing projects.Responsibilities
  • Design new tools and stamping dies using Inventor.
  • Manage the bill of materials for all designs.
  • Create and update detailed drawings for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop conceptual, preliminary, and detail designs.
  • Review designs with customers to ensure they meet specifications and quotes.
  • Consult with customers and the engineering team during design review meetings.
  • Use measuring devices to modify existing tooling for new or ongoing projects.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in designing tools and dies.
  • Proficiency in Inventor.
  • Tool-making experience.
  • Advanced training through an accredited program in tool and die design/engineering, journeyman, or stamping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Journeyman card (nice to have).
  • Stamping experience (nice to have).
  • Supervisory experience (nice to have).
Work EnvironmentThe individual will work on a team with 5 other people in the tool and die team. The work environment is in Plant 6 with hours from 6 AM to 2:30PM, offering some flexibility on start and end times within reason.
