Summary of Position Lays out, fabricates, assembles, and repairs jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies, following blueprints, sketches, and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. This position is for 2nd shift.Essential Functions
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety regulations
- Operate crane, forklift, and heaving machinery
- Examines blueprints and/or MBD models for templates, jigs, fixtures, or other bond tools to be built
- Use of measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, etc.
- May draw sketches and prepare detailed instructions for fabricating or machining to be performed by other workers
- Sets up and operates variety of machines and shop equipment to cut, shape, and finish materials to specified dimensions
- Work with aluminum, steel, graphite materials, etc.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and various shop equipment
- Deburring and grinding of tools
- Track hours on all jobs
- Any additional duties assigned by management
Required Skills, Education & Experience Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in setup and operating lathes, bridgeport, surface grinder, etc.
- 5+ years of experience in inspection gages and equipment (i.e.: micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
- Understanding of general customer requirements and specifications
- Able to complete a job from start to finish with little to no assistance
- Basic math skill
- Ability to prepare detailed instructions for fabricating or machining to be performed by other workers
- This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required

- Able to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends when necessary
