Job Description:

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Tool & Die Maintenance Tech for a metal stamping company in Goodrich, MI. Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of various stamping and die equipment. You will service dies, troubleshoot production issues, and work closely with engineering and management to maintain high production standards. Safety, precision, and attention to detail are critical, as the quality of stamped products depends on the accuracy and condition of the dies and equipment. Pay: $18.00/hr Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and using proper PPE.
  • Work effectively with peers in a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly to production needs, servicing dies and tooling to ensure continuous operation.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas to meet quality and reliability standards.
  • Perform maintenance, sharpening, and repairs on stamping dies to ensure optimal production.
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute tasks based on production requirements.
  • Operate various tool room equipment such as lathes, surface grinders, CNC machines, and milling machines.
  • Understand the functions and principles of fine blank presses and other stamping equipment.
  • Perform all assigned duties safely and in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of dies and stamping equipment.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure dimensional accuracy during repairs.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with stamping presses (both mechanical and hydraulic), surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, and CNC machines.
  • Experience with die maintenance and repair, including disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling dies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with dies, presses, and related tooling.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for maintaining tight tolerances in metal stamping.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in stamping presses.
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, or minor tooling modifications is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals with accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for die and stamping equipment.
Relevant Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with precision machining tools such as grinders, lathes, and milling machines to make or repair die components.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate fine blank presses and perform die polishing and finishing for high-quality production.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols when handling heavy dies and working with powerful stamping machines.
  • Experience in using and maintaining tools like die lifters, cranes, and hoists for die transportation and installation.
This position requires a self-motivated individual who is willing to learn and take initiative in maintaining the critical tools that drive the metal stamping process.
