Job Title: Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift Location: Chino, CAShift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30pmPay Range: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour Job Duties:
- Works on tools and dies as needed to maintain them in a production environment.
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
- Experience with big progressive, and transfer dies for Aluminum and steel material experience.
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or sketches.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
- Requests heat treating of tools or parts.
- Examines standard or previously used ides, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
- Works with apprentices and teaches them the fundamentals of tool and die making.
- Ensures all safety items are in place before operation of Tool Room machines and equipment are started.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Automotive or Metal Stamping Industry Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate from college, technical school, or apprenticeship program is desired but not necessary.
