Full-Time: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000, less applicable taxes.

nVent is adding a full-time 1st shift Tool & Die Maker to the team!

The Tool & Die Maker position significantly contributes to manufacturing operations through responsive and effective improvements and repairs to molds and dies.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Build tooling components, fixtures to support production.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all injection molds and metal stamping dies.

  • Participate in design review activities for new tooling.

  • Initiate and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.

  • Maintain spare parts and wear parts inventories for exiting tooling.

  • Educate production staff on preventative and autonomous maintenance practices.

  • Participate in Kaizen events and support World Class Manufacturing practices

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Assist with maintenance duties as directed.

  • Perform all other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a Technical degree in Machine Tool Technology and 3-5 years of applicable experience.

  • Requires a high degree of mechanical, technical, and analytic knowledge.

  • Ability to use precision measuring tools.

  • Capable of setting up and operating milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, CNC equipment, wire, and sinker EDM machines.

  • Good problem-solving abilities.

  • Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge of injection molding machines and punch presses.

  • Ability of work overtime based on business need.

  • Team player with a can-do attitude.

  • Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally with team members and leaders.

  • Must be able to hear/speak/understand team members at all levels within a diverse workforce.

  • Must be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, sit and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift document/work materials up to 25 pounds.
