Operates various machine tools and performs other highly skilled work, such as laying out, fitting, and assembling parts. May involve considerable development work, highly skilled fitting, and adjusting. Occasionally construct tools where no design is available on an as-needed basis. Work is usually entirely independent of others.Analyzes and interprets blueprints, schematics and CAD drawings as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.Selects appropriate raw material and machine processes as required to complete project to specificationsMust be proficient at operating all toolroom machines, such as Knee Mills, 3-5 axis mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, etc.Uses applied shop math such as Geometry and Trigonometry to determine proper path to takeModifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications.Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to required tolerances on design drawings using precision measuring equipment including but not limited to sine plates, gauge blocks, Cadillac gauge, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators.Documents actions by reporting labor in the ERP systemPerform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditationMaintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping dutiesAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentEffective communication and people skills to maintain a working relationship with Engineering and Management[]{style= font-family: arial; }
