Herman Mold + Tooling is a local, Fairfield, Iowa, company that manufactures aluminum molds used to make plastic products. We have been in business for 37 years serving the Fairfield community. Our molds produce products for a variety of industries including construction, agriculture equipment, automotive, lawn and garden, and more...We are looking for a skilled tool maker to join our team! This role is integral in producing high-quality molds to our customers standards. This position requires great manual dexterity and technical knowledge to be able to work with a variety of materials, tools, and machinery in the production of aluminum molds and steel cutting.This position is for day shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.Responsibilities:Operate manual lathes, CNC, milling machines, and other tool room equipmentUse measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, tape measuresTroubleshoot basic repairs for common blow mold issues: flash, broken and/or bent ejector pins, stuck partsRead and understand blueprints to make parts per printPerform routine basic maintenance on machinesCompetencies:Proficient with measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, rulers, scribes, and geometric dimensions and tolerancesGood communication with the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with engineers, mold makers, and other staffStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
