Job Summary:
This person will assist with the efficient operation of the plant by maintaining all production tooling. Supports manufacturing by repairing, tear-down and rework existing tools. Manage a mold data base/list, track time, and updates, modifications, spare parts list, and other relevant information for all molds within the company. Must also be able to comply with the duties and responsibilities below.
Knowledge | Experience | Skills:
High school diploma or GED. Experienced level of tool maker job typically requires trade school and 3+ years of tool room experience, or equivalent. Three years experience in Injection Molding. General knowledge of Injection Molding and manufacturing operations. Completion of the tool and die maker apprenticeship program. Good communication and Interpersonal Skills. Basic Computer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supports production by maintaining all molds in a production ready state.• Responsible for mentoring less experienced employees on the job, such as apprentices • Repairs, cleans, services and performs insert changes on all molds• Wire Hot runners, hot sprue, thermocouples in addition to replace hot runner components• Wire limit switches• Cleaning ,lubrication, polishing mold components• Must complete job assignments in a timely manner• Blue and spot shutoffs in and out of the machine• Ability to make small parts in a manual lathe, milling machine, surface grinder• Must be able to TIG weld• Knowledge of core pull hydraulic cylinders being able to rebuild / replace
