Purpose: Exercises overall supervision of department to construct, alter, maintain and repair molds, dies, jigs, fixtures and other equipment. Plan work of department to meet production schedules. Controls quality of work in Tool Room and indirectly in production departments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, construct, alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures and gauges.
- Diagnose and correct trouble in complicated dies and tools.
- Revise and repair press components.
- Make press components.
- Maintain Tool Room equipment and machinery.
- Assist Engineering Department with new and existing jobs as required.
- Train and support Tool Room personnel.
- Develop and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
- Analyze problems with new tooling and propose solutions.
- Responsible for overall supervision of Tool personnel.
- Interprets and administers management policies and decisions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Work Experience:
- 3 – 5 years related experience in an injection molding environment.
- Must be able to read blueprints and possess working knowledge of tool room equipment and tools.
- Supervisor experience.
- MUST be able to troubleshoot and understand injection molding.

Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of a four (4) year state apprenticeship certified Journeyman program or eight (8) years
- Equivalent experience as a tool and die maker.
