Tooling EngineerRole Overview:Assist in the management ofthe specification, design and procurement of molding tools for multiple tooling projects, under the supervision of a more senior Tooling Engineer.Specific Responsibilities:*Estimate production rates, part weights and other factors necessary to determine part costs and press selection.*Review parts and part prints and provide information on moldability, material considerations and performance. Ensure multiple part compatibility. Participate in DFM, DFF, DFEMA, and PFEMAs.*Specify tool parameters, obtain tool quotes from qualified vendors in accordance with Bemis mold specifications.*Assist in the evaluation of quotes and recommend vendors to ensure overall project cost and completion criteria are met.*Participate in the review of detailed tool designs.*Assist in tool acceptance trials, accomplish corrections to provide acceptable parts and optimize productivity.*Participate in the identification and correction of mold and molding problems. Specify maintenance requirements and parts.*Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams to increase productivity and quality.*Assist in the technical assistance for molds and processes.*Assist in the management of mold maintenance projects.Skills & Qualifications:*2 year Associates Degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting or Journeyman Tool and Die Maker required*4 year Engineering Degree preferred*1-3 years' experience in the engineering field*Computer Literacy*Problem solving skills*Project Management skills*Good written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical way*Based on the experience and education of the candidate this position may be filled at another level within the job family
