DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:To maintain molds and tooling for use in production; to perform mold and tooling changes safely and efficiently; to keep Tool Room Supervisor informed of the condition of all molds and components.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs scheduled maintenance on molds as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor;Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to:Complete dis-assembly of molds;Clean and inspect all components;Repair any damages as directed by Tool Room Supervisor;Install, replace, and maintain water and hydraulic fittings;Troubleshoot, repair and maintain HR manifolds, controllers, and cables;Perform tooling changeovers only after reviewing the applicable Mold Recipe Document (cores, strippers, cavities, gate inserts, and plates);Prior to production - test water and HR systems, including controllers;Replace O Â rings and seals;Lubricate molds;Transport and manipulate molds by use of fork lifts and overhead cranes;Document condition of tooling; inform supervisor of any major damage to mold or tooling;Check knock out rods, chute for mold, water lines/hoses, etc.;Return tooling and components to their assigned locations;Hook up / unhook water, chute, and cylinder (if rack mold) for mold changes in accordance to engineering approved prints;Install / remove knock out rods, conveyors, spinner bowls, side shields, and thermolator;Hook up / unhook controller, (if hot runner mold);Construct side shields, chutes, or knock out rods as required;Adhere to all department safety procedures;Undergo training and become proficient in all tool room related Phoenix Work Instructions;Participate in additional training to improve knowledge and hands-on skill levels.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures;Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions;Backup: Off-shift Tooling Maintenance.RequirementsEDUCATION AND TRAINING:Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; ability to read and understand blueprints; English reading and writing skills; ability to use micrometer, ruler, and caliper; fork lift and man lift certifications required.EXPERIENCE:Minimum 3 years of related experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lifting or Carrying (0-35 lbs. typically 0-15% of the day);Simple Grasping (0-15%) - sorting, filing;Fine Manipulating (30-70%) - typing, computer work.EQUIPMENT USED:Personal Computer, calculator, telephone, portable electronic devices.CONTACTS:Production Department Managers;Molding and Lining Maintenance personnel;Corporate Tooling Engineer;Customer Service; Process;Design Engineering personnel;Production Planners;Vice President of Operations Support;Director of Engineering.SUPERVISION:Reports to Tool Room Spvr.#J-18808-Ljbffr
