We are seeking a Tooling Technician for our Conneaut Ohio Plant

Essential Job Functions:

Operate such equipment as manual lathes, grinders, milling machines, and drill presses

Welding skills with TIG welding

Weld and repair any tooling components.

Troubleshoot tooling problems/process problems and design special tools, fixtures.

Provide tooling assessments and technical assistance.

Read blueprints and work to close tolerances when necessary.

Assist the Engineering and Manufacturing departments in developing methods to incorporate process/product improvement ideas.

Fabrication of jigs and fixtures as needed to support manufacturing operations.

Adjustment of secondary fixtures and jigs to ensure part design conformance.

Preventative Maintenance (clean and repair of molds and secondary fixtures).

Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in work area as well as assigned areas by supervision.

Has responsibility for continuous improvement, corrective actions, and quality of products.

Willingness to work overtime, holiday schedules and weekend if required to support manufacturing operations.

Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Will be required to work within the plant - factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass, and heat. Must adhere to PPE requirements as defined in the safety manual when in the manufacturing area.

Qualifications:

Must complete and pass a lift truck (tow motor) safety licensing, overhead crane certification, and lock out - tag out procedure certification.

Experience in tool and die, compression molding, and secondary fixture repair is preferred.

Good written and oral communication skills required

Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing direct threat of harm to himself, others or property.

Able to operate such equipment such as lathes, grinders, milling machines, radial drill presses, shapers and welding tools.

Must have passed a lift truck (tow motor) safety and lock out procedure program.

Able to repair, maintain and/or alter molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, tools and other equipment.

Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

Demonstrate machinist ability.

Manual dexterity required in bending, lifting and control of arms, wrists and hands.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required along with vocational training is strongly preferred. Experience in tool and die, compression molding, and secondary fixture repair is preferred.

Wage Range $24.38-30.14
