Your Job

We are seeking a Toolmaker to assemble and debug manufacturing automation equipment and to fabricate, modify, and troubleshoot automation stations and support equipment transfers to Molex facilities worldwide.

Our Team

The Datacom and Specialty Solutions (DSS) automation team designs, builds, and launches cutting edge automation equipment around Molex facilities globally to supply an extensive product line serving customers in telecommunications, datacom, hyperscalers, data center and storage applications.

What You Will Do

• Attend design review meetings and PFMEA's while working with automation design team members to improve current and future designs.
• Provides insight and design consideration for machine controls and operator interface panels to improve the reliability and ease of operation of the equipment.
• Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and troubleshoots automation stations and components. Includes troubleshooting assembly and product issues, adjusting manufacturing processes to improve product performance and reacting quickly to any production requirements.
• Supervises the disassembly/packaging and subsequent unpacking & commissioning of LR-Automation equipment installed in Molex facilities globally.
• International Travel: Up to 20% per year.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent experience or recent graduate from a trade school
• Possess analytical and creative problem-solving skills to arrive at sound solutions
• Self-management, planning and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of CAD software
• Proficiently operate mills, lathes, and surface grinders
• Read and interpret detailed prints
• Available to travel up to 20%

What Will Put You Ahead

• 2+ years' experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent
• Experience in the wire processing or connector industry
• Interpreting schematics to perform electrical field wiring of sensors, valves, and motors.
