Duties

Tour of Duty: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00AM to 2:30PM

This is an Emergency Essential position. Depending on the type of emergency, the employee may be required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather situations.

You must possess a valid, unexpired State or District of Columbia driver's license at application.

Major Duties:

* Monitors the stock on hand of tools, parts and other supplies and materials. Reports items that are in short supply due to higher-than-normal demand, breakage or frequency of repair. Prepares requests to order such items and requests for items not normally kept in stock. Examines incoming items to confirm that the items comply with what was requested. Notifies the supervisor of discrepancies in quantity, description or usability.

* Maintains a clean and orderly shop and inventory.

* Uses an automated stock keeping system to monitor inventory status. Prepares item descriptions for new items introduced into the system.

* Checks in tools returned by workers. Visually examines tools and tests them to determine whether they should be sent for repair. Stores items in designated locations. Relocates items as necessary to accommodate changes in inventory and use patterns.

* Occasionally Drives golf cars, UTV's, pickup trucks and non-CDL trucks to transport materials and staff to various locations.

Must possess a State or D.C. driver's license. Occasionally operates forklift to unload and load trucks. Forklift operation requires a valid driver's license and a Certificate as a Powered Industrial Truck operator for the Forklift in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(6).

* Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials based on usage rates. Participates in periodic inventories. Receives materials and supplies personally stored and monitors the receipt of supplies and materials purchased and stored by trades' shops.

* Coordinates the movement of incoming and outgoing supplies and placement of materials with the docking and storage areas. As assigned, delivers receiving and shipping documents to CGA procurement staff confirming deliveries.

* Screens shipping and receiving documents to identify any discrepancies in number and/or type of items ordered. Contacts vendors to resolve such issues and expedites the resolution of discrepancies.

The incumbent must follow all relevant safety rules, regulations and standard operating procedures. Must utilize knowledge of and must comply with applicable Office of Compliance and OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner. Receives training, either on the job or through classroom training, to ensure that all safety practices and equipment are fully utilized. Must use of any required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

* Uses automated stock keeping systems to monitor inventory AND unload/move materials, equipment and supplies to distribution locations or storage rooms.

* Ability to perform the duties of a Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision.
