Hunting, Dearborn Division is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, Tool Setter to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. The Tool Setter will work with the area supervisor to coordinate and accomplish the tasks related to department level production tooling. The Tool Setter will be responsible for setting up machine cutting tools according to tooling documentation specifications, building tooling kits, inspecting cutting tools, accurate documentation of data, and supporting all tooling needs throughout facility. Effective verbal and written communication are essential skills. - Set-up new/repaired tools on arbors or bodies for use.
- Replace insert type tools and properly set in body.
- Properly maintain tool bodies, arbors, and holders.
- Operate tool presetter for properly setting tools (Zoller).
- Package tools for shipping to service vendors.
- Work with machine operators and tool vendors on tooling issues.
- Organize and maintain remote tool storage areas.
- Set-up new tools on machines as required.
- Maintain daily tool change records.
- Set-up and repair cutting tools for production.
- Select, repair, and fixture cutting tool package for machine set-up requested by production.
- Assist with tracking results from tool trials.
- Perform cutting tool maintenance and simple repair.
- Report fluctuations in tool usage.
Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Associate's degree in a technical or related field, preferred
- Basic understanding of machine controls
- Attention to detail
- Time management
- Ability to work independently
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and measurement conversions
