  • Provide helpful information to visitors in a polite friendly manner
  • Promote local events and businesses
  • Give directions to visitors
  • Suggest attractions, places to visit, eat, and shop
  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Basic knowledge of inventory, prices, and rental policies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and Experience
    • Friendly, outgoing, service orientated
    • Knowledge of Bemidji and surrounding area
    • Strong verbal communication skills
    • Comfortable in an environment that might require flexibility and adaptability
  • Necessary Knowledge Skills & Abilities
    • Providing a warm, welcoming, and helpful attitude to visitors
    • Familiarity with local attractions, history, events, and services
    • Sensitivity to the cultural backgrounds and preferences of diverse visitors
    • Keeping brochures, maps, and other materials organized and accessible
  • Preferred Requirements
    • First aid and/or CPR training preferred but not required. Potentially training offered depending on volunteer position type and length of service

  • Tools & Equipment Used
    • Personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software; phone, and Point of Sale software.
