In this role, you will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the Code Enforcement Officers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Qualified candidates should possess the ability to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Enforce zoning and subdivision ordinances.Prepare staff reports on rezoning, site plan, and development projects for consideration by the Hope Mills Board of Commissioners.Prepare Joint Planning Board and Board of Adjustment agenda packets.Provide planning and zoning analysis to the general public.Collaborate with the Cumberland County Planning Department on various projects including: - Presentation of zoning cases before the Joint Planning Board.
- Send request for updates to the County's GIS system as it relates to Hope Mills activities tied to subdivisions and zoning mapping.
Lead efforts to manage current development and long-range land use issues.Facilitate various public meetings related to the department and any related committees.Maintain reports and related records according to appropriate retention periods. Ensure that programs, processes, and activities are in compliance with all city, state, and federal laws and regulations applicable to land use planning & development, and zoning.Provide responsible staff support for division efforts related to annexations, long range planning, census surveys, and/or other applicable initiativesSupervise day-to-day code enforcement activities.Other related duties as assigned. - Two (2) years of experience in planning, public policy, or related field AND a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience in planning, public policy, or related field AND a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Engineering, Community Development or related field.
