PURPOSE: Provide engineering support for all tooling related functions, including assisting with implementation of new corporate projects.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:
Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities.
Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment.
Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in associated training.
AUTHORITIES, including but not limited to:
Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
PRIMARY DUTIES, including but not limited to:
Respond to non-established procedures if they should arise.
Provide input to Product Development regarding mold or tooling design and sign-off on final design.
Work with all plants on tooling issues.
Work with the plants on installation and start-up of all new molds or tooling.
Optimize the performance of all molds or tooling within area of discipline.
Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department.
Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value.
Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 - 12 point font at a distance of 12 - 18 inches.
Speak, write, and read effectively in English.
Computer literate.
Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal positively with others in a team environment.
