Skookum is seeking a reliable Tractor Operator with a helpful attitude. This individual will be responsible for using tractors, gang mowers, plow snow, and other grounds equipment to service all grounds maintenance requirements and ensures the grounds are clean, safe and attractive. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Operates medium and/or large tractor, gang mowers (not to exceed a total weight of 25,000 lbs) and other ground equipment (weed eaters, chain saws and brush cutters, etc.) to services all grounds.
- Provides and maintains all grass cutting equipment for grounds maintenance. Items include, but not limited to, mowers, lawn vacuum/blowing devices, tractors, equipment with mowing accessories, string trimmers, landscape edgers and other equipment as required to perform work under this functional area.
- Responsible for grass cutting in designated areas and to be accomplished in a manner such that it is not uneven or rough and is free of scalping, rutting, and bruising.
- Remove rubbish, debris, trash from the maintenance area and along the foundation walls.
- Operate snowplows to remove snow from maintenance area, spread salt on grounds, and shovel side walks.
Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of grounds experience required.
- Knowledge and experience with large tractor gang mowers and other power-driven ground equipment is desired.
- Knowledge of safe work practices is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor is required.
Physical Demands:
- Position duties require working outside in the weather. Conditions may include rain, cold and/or heat.
- Work site location can include steep inclines, such as slopes, hills, and uneven ground surfaces.
- Position may require working in high places such as scaffolding, ladders, man baskets, and/or cherry pickers.
Requirements:
- A Valid State Driver's license is required, CDL B is preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance company.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
