Job Description Summary:Our client is a leading law firm in the technology and life sciences sectors, with offices across Washington, D.C., Northern California, New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. The firm's International Trade & National Security team provides legal counsel to innovative companies, including established businesses, corporate investors, advanced manufacturers, fintech firms, defense contractors, and emerging technology developers. They specialize in export controls, sanctions, foreign direct investment reviews, and trade policy.Job Description:Our client's Washington, D.C. office is seeking a mid-level associate to join their growing Trade & National Security practice. The ideal candidate will have at least four (4) years of relevant experience in trade and economic sanctions, U.S. export controls (including EAR, ITAR, OFAC), trade policy, and national security issues. Experience should include compliance counseling, product classifications, license applications, rulemaking advocacy, internal investigations, government enforcement actions, and CFIUS/FOCI filings.Candidates must be able to gain admission to the D.C. bar. A strong academic background, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Prior experience or interest in working with technology and life sciences companies is a plus.
