Look no further than the Great New York State Fair! The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is hiring for Trades Generalist positions to work at the New York State Fairgrounds. As a Trades Generalist, G-12, you will be responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled level work in one or more related trades, as required by the maintenance program. The incumbents may plan and lay out construction, repair, and maintenance projects.The fairgrounds are located at 581 State Fair Boulevard in Syracuse, New York, and offers a comfortable work environment, complete with free parking.The Trades Generalist is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.Salary:The Trades Generalist position is in the CSEA Salary Grade (SG) 12. The starting salary of the CSEA SG-12is $48,956/year. The candidate appointed to this position will be eligible to participate in the New York State Performance Evaluation Program. Through this program, employees receive yearly performance evaluations. Performance advances are payable to CSEA employees whose base annual salary is below the job rate for their current position and who were rated Satisfactory or its equivalent on their yearly performance evaluation. Performance advance payments are added to an employee's annual salary. Over time, yearly performance advances may lead to the SG-12 job rate salary of $59,757/ year!Benefits:This is a Labor Class, CSEA-represented position that offers excellent benefits!
