Job Description:

* To promote and support trades programs of the College, with an emphasis on the grant-funded Workforce Pipeline Program and other activities supported by the ICCB Trades Grant.

* Reports to: Dean of Career and Technical Education

* Principal Working Relationship: Dean of Career and Technical Education, Director of Workforce and Community Education, Coordinator of Career Development, Career Technical Education Program Support Specialist, Director of Recruitment, Coordinator of Career and Technical Education & Health Professions Recruitment, Student Success Advocates, Faculty, Staff, Students, Industry Partners, and Community Members.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Serve as a primary point of contact for the day-to-day operations of the ICCB Trades Grant and the associated Workforce Pipeline Program.

* Coordinate outreach, school presentations, tours, and other means necessary to reach a diverse audience.

* Follow-up with inquiries and prospective students through mailings, phone calls, e-mails, and text messaging.

* Coordinate with the Director of Recruitment and the Coordinator of Career and Technical Education & Health Professions Recruitment to ensure recruitment activities meet the strategic enrollment goals of the College.

* Actively participate in the organization and facilitation of career exploration, and workforce development activities and meetings with both internal and external partners.

* Support student application and enrollment processes for the Workforce Pipeline Program.

* Act as a liaison between Workforce Pipeline Program students and their assigned Student Success Advocates.

* Provide referrals to other student support services representatives as determined by the individual needs of each student.

* Meet with Workforce Pipeline Program students periodically to ensure students are meeting program requirements and to set post-program completion goals as they relate to post-secondary education and/or employment.

* Provide outreach to Workforce Pipeline Program alumni to obtain information on student satisfaction and gainful employment.

* Prepare for and assist with trades program orientations and other campus events that promote trades student engagement and success.

* Draft documents related to the Workforce Pipeline Program and other ICCB Trades Grant activities, including but not limited to, recruitment materials, program correspondence, memorandums of understanding, and program handbooks.

* Create, manage, and deliver surveys to students, graduates, and employers.

* Coordinate program meetings and serve as the recording secretary.

* Participate in the establishment of strategic initiatives and the assessment of the department's key performance indicators.

* Maintain, monitor and re-order when necessary program equipment, consumables, and other supplies.

* Manage the documentation required to process program participants' stipends and mileage reimbursement.

* Other Duties as Assigned

Assists With:

* Workforce Pipeline Program classroom support.

* Monitoring course registrations, attendance oversight and subsequent contact with instructors when needed.

* Coordinating special activities and events for both internal and external groups and assisting with public relations.

* Administrative support for the Trades Grant management.

* Updating program webpages, social media accounts, and marketing materials.

* Administrative support for Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).

* Budget management, invoices, requisitions, purchase orders, and expense reports relevant to the ICCB Trades grant and associated activities.

Risk Management and Loss Prevention Activities:

* Actively participate in and carry out activities in support of the college Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position.

* Monitor conditions, events, and circumstances present in the college operation to avoid potential torts or injuries to students, staff, or the general public, and then communicate observations to the appropriate supervisor and/or Risk Management Committee.

* Maintain a working knowledge of the college's emergency procedures and how to operate emergency phone systems; including internal/external call boxes.

* High school diploma or GED and completion of a post-secondary certificate or degree required. Completion of a trades program preferred.

* Experience working in the trades or career and technical education preferred.

* Excellent word-processing, database, spreadsheet, bookkeeping and presentation skills required.

* Interpersonal, organization, and communications skills essential.

* Willingness to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of evening and weekend hours required.

* Valid driver's license.

* The ability to communicate successfully both verbally and in writing with clients without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.

* Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

Physical requirements to perform job functions

* Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning, and other office equipment).

* General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (20lbs or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit

* Operation of a motor vehicle as required for travel related to position responsibilities.

This new position is funded in part through Illinois Community College Board grant funds until March 31, 2025. If the implementation of this position is deemed successful, additional funds to sustain this position may be sought.
