Job DescriptionThis class is responsible for performing journeyman trades duties. The position will be required to perform work on highly specialized equipment associated with wastewater pump stations, and depending on grade level, will act as a lead worker, directing personnel in the proper repair/replacement of equipment. This employee must be able to trouble-shoot equipment to determine the cause of any problems and make accurate and timely decisions with respect to repairs and/or replacements.Essential DutiesMay serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.Performs installations, repairs, and general maintenance in functional area.Prepares materials and cost estimates for various projects within functional area.Performs preventative maintenance in functional area.Maintains level of supplies and equipment.Assists with establishing safe construction sites to include directing traffic.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.Other Job Requirements/InformationThis job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.GradeThe grade for this position is B213.Hiring Salary Range:Level I (Grade A123) - $41,669Level II (Grade B213) - $43,238 - $49,724Level III (Grade B233) - $51,237 - $66,608Level IV (Grade B313) - $55,721 - $72,437Minimum QualificationsTrades Tech I:High School diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseValid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.Trades Tech II:High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseTwo years of experience working in industrial, mechanical maintenance and repair, pumping systems, electrical systems or power generation engine maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.Trades Tech III:High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseFour years of related mechanical or electrical trades experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.Trades Tech IV:High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseFive years of progressively responsible trades experience (mechanical or electrical preferred), some of which is in a supervisory capacity.or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.Department of Water ResourcesGwinnett County Department of Water Resources (DWR) is a publicly-owned utility committed to delivering superior services to a vibrantly connected community.
