A financial institution in New York City is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Trading Assistant to their team to support an ETF desk.Responsibilities:The Trading Assistant will:
- Assist the Traders with executing trades in various financial instruments such as equities, bonds, derivatives, and currencies
- Monitor and manage trade settlements, ensuring all trades are accurately processed and settled in a timely manner
- Handle trade confirmations, reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct research and provide analysis on market trends, economic data, and financial news to support trading decisions
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on market activities and trading performance
- Monitor and report on trading positions and risks, ensuring compliance with risk management policies
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies
- Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory reporting and audits
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in Trade Support and/or similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with Domestic ETF block desks
- Familiarity with Financial Markets & Instruments
- Proficiency in trading platforms and software (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, FIX Protocol).
- Experience in Data Analysis tools (e.g., Excel, VBA, SQL)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Advanced Degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, Series 7 & 63)
- Solid understanding of Financial regulations and Compliance requirements affecting Trading activities
- Knowledge of the Regulatory environment in the U.S. Financial Markets
