Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.HDR is hiring a Traffic EIT/Designer in our Pensacola, FL office to work as part of a traffic team under the direction of a Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic engineering and planning projects. This position will support our fast-growing Transportation Planning Section.Responsibilities:
- Perform transportation planning and related tasks in support of traffic simulation and capacity analyses, development or
- assistance in the development of traffic forecasts from regional travel demand models
- Evaluate multimodal transportation systems and provide detailed and summary results in graphics
- Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro -simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments
- Write reports to clearly communicate analysis results and recommendations and present findings to the team
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline is required
- Engineering Intern (Passed Fundamentals Exam) or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Until then, the title will be Traffic Coordinator
- Must have a strong interest in the planning and design of complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and traffic operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for public and client presentations and document preparation
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, AIMSUM, VISSIM, CUBE, VISUM and MicroStation
- Preference given to local candidates
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Conduct traffic design using CAD platformsincluding MicroStation, autoCad and Guide Sign software
- Conduct operational analysisusing a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties,including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and Aimsun
- Conduct safety analysis using a variety ofsafety software tolls including Highway SafetySoftware
- Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
