Our traffic engineers work on a variety of projects and interact with transit professionals, highway engineers, structure engineers and our construction inspection staff. We are looking for an individual to successfully take the lead in the development of existing and new business opportunities to increase our market share of private and public sectors transportation work in the lower Hudson Valley and to support the firm's overall growth strategy.This position requires an action-driven professional who can identify, develop, and maintain strategic business relationships with potential clients and teaming partners. This position will work closely with the existing traffic and planning staff in White Plains, and the technical Group Leader based in Albany.The ideal candidate will have:Experience managing traffic and planning projects in New York State including both public and private funded projectsStrong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlinesStrong communication, presentation, and client relation skills - both verbal and writtenA network of clients and contacts in the lower Hudson Valley is preferred.Responsibilities of the position include:Identify new project opportunities utilizing network connections and market researchProactive meetings with potential and current clientsCollaborate to develop teaming and operational strategies in response to the need of the market or client, including identification and negotiation with potential teaming partnersPrepare technical proposals, attend interviews, and secure contractsManage projects through implementation, including being responsible for staff and other resource planningAttracting and hiring staff to grow the design groupAttend conferences and networking events, and develop new leadsProvide project quality reviewsAll interested candidates should send in a cover letter and resume to include salary requirements and availability.Typical projects include long-range transportation planning, traffic impact studies, site planning and design, traffic signal design, transit planning and design.
