Job Description Traffic Manager100 Crawford St, Leominster, MA 01453MA900 Distribution Transfer StationFull-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN All Hours AvailableOVERVIEW:Working as Full-time Traffic Manager, you will manage the Traffic department. This department is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Transportation department. You will provide supervision and leadership to a team of employees. You will be responsible for the overall function of the department including short term and long term goals that pertain to quality, productivity and time management. We strive to integrate EHS & Sustainability considerations into all our business decisions, plans, and operations.RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:o Providing leadership, development and supervision of team memberso Coordinating employees, including scheduling, hiring and exitingo Ensuring short term and long term goals are meto Training and developing employeeso Communicating with employees and brancheso Monitoring the effective and efficient daily operations of the Traffic departmento Communicating internally and externally by phone and emailo Maintaining files, documents, paperwork and data entryo Managing budgets and performance metricso Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectationso Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectiveso Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainingso Operate a Fastenal vehicle and run truck routes, Non-CDL and/or CDL, as neededREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as neededo Possess at least 2 years of industry related management experience or 1 year of Fastenal management experienceo Proficient written and oral communication skillso Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitieso Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skillso Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmento Highly motivated, self directed and customer service orientedo Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgencyo Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as neededo Willingness to travel as neededo Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworko Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbso Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)o Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background checkPREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:o Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Commercial Driver's Licenseo Prior experience in route management and logisticso Prior experience and knowledge in CSA compliance and DOT regulationsABOUT US:Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
