Report to management the analysis completed for each company.Make specific recommendations on changes to carriers, transportation, and freight policy by company, by FOB point, or by customer to improve corporate service and the bottom line. Project and track the impact of proposed or implemented changes to service and cost for domestic and international shipments.Ensure materials, supplies, components, etc. deliver as needed and at the lowest costs possible.Propose and implement systems or processes to improve the corporate transportation infrastructure. Improvements include automaton of transportation software or auditing of traffic; and could include anything that improves auditing of carriers, analysis of freight costs and payments, analysis of freight credits, analysis of handling charges, analysis of freight lanes, analysis of delivery time or quality, analysis of policy conformance etc.Negotiate carrier contracts that reduce the overall cost of freight for the company. Reduce freight costs using creative shipping lanes, fob points, and modes of transportation. Ensure the carriers selected deliver high quality to customers.RequirementsExperience and Education
- BA/BS required.
- Previous experience working in distribution or manufacturing required.
