JMT, is currently ranked #61 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPlan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scopeManage or lead the development of final traffic analyses/studies, traffic engineering reports, traffic signal warrant analyses, interchange access reports(IARs),corridor studies, traffic signal design, signing, pavement marking plan developmentAnalyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projectsPerform design computationsDesign projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing toolsDevelop construction cost estimatesAssist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and constructionPrepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimatesManage all technical resources on the project teamDevelop and monitor project scope, project pricing, scheduling, and budgetsPrepare proposals as requiredAttend meetings with clients, which may include client presentations.Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established qualityNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsAble to convey ideas and clear direction via written and oral communicationsProficient in Microsoft OfficeProficient with MicroStationProficient with Synco/SimTraffic,SIDRA,VISSIMExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program10+ years' experience in specialized disciplineProject /Task management experienceProfessional Engineer License in NC and SCExperience working with local clients at the county and state levelProposal development experience (scope/schedule/fee)PTOE or PMP – (preferred)Project management and business development experienceWorking ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
