We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic & Roadway Engineer to support ourEast Gulf Regionlocated in Tennessee. What you'll be doing:
- Prepare technical reports for traffic impact studies, interchange access requests, or safety studies
- Prepare and management the development of traffic impact studies, land use planning, master plan studies, traffic signal warrant studies, bikeway planning and design, community and campus planning, technical report writing
- Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
- Prepare temporary traffic control plan/traffic management plan (TMP) and signing, pavement marking plans
- Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
- Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
- Assist with and prepare roadway design plans
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers
- Attend project meetings with clients
- Manage project budgets to meet financial metrics
- Responsible for business development activities
What you need to have:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years of traffic engineering experience
- EIT is required, PE is highly preferred
- PTP or PTOE is preferred
- ITE membership will be preferred, if not already a member
- Knowledge in transportation planning, including comprehensive corridor analysis, TDOT local programs (beneficial), public involvement, safety and access, pedestrian and bicycle planning, multimodal planning and traffic operations
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (OpenRoads/InRoads preferred)
- Familiarity with TDOT and/or general DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
- Proficiency in traffic analyses software such as VISSIM, Synchro/Simtraffic, Sidra Intersection, HCS
- Self-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Willingness and motivation to curate and foster personal client base
