- Inspect & Innovate: Oversee the construction and installation of traffic signals, street lighting, fiber, and system equipment.
- Hands-On Experience: Dive into various duties related to the activities of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Traffic operations.
- Set the Standard: Ensure all construction and maintenance activities are up to par with federal, state, and local standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical and non-technical work involved in the manufacture, installation, and refurbishing of traffic signals, street lighting facilities, and bridge electrical systems.
- Duties are performed under the general direction of the Project Manager who evaluates performance through routine meetings and occasional on-site inspections.
- Ability to plan and schedule work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing Minimum Requirements
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and two years of documented journeyman-level work in the maintenance or construction of traffic signals and streetlights or the electrical trade.
- This is a Safety-Sensitive position subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided by DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382.
License/Certification
- Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or the ability to obtain the license within six (6) months of hire date, with an acceptable driving record is required or employment will end.
- Possession of a Level II IMSA Certification in Traffic Signals, IMSA Level I Certification in Street Lighting and Maintenance of Traffic or the ability to obtain certification within one year of the hire date is required.
Supplemental Information
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Familiarity with video detection, ITS, ATMS, fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting related to traffic signals.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This role also requires on-call availability, including nights and weekends.
