Position Summary:Correctly perform DOT & PM Inspections on trailers. Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including brakes, air system, electrical system and suspension components. Perform welding and fabrication repairs. Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain accurate records of all work performed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determines necessary mechanical, electrical, or other areas that need repair to meet the customer's expectations.
  • Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers.
  • Understand foundation brake systems with ability to diagnose and repair
  • Knowledge of air system operation with ability to diagnose and repair
  • Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum.
  • Repair electrical systems and wiring. Lighting, ABS, Etc...
  • Assists customers on service calls.
  • Correctly completes all forms, timecards, parts requests, or any other documents associated with trailer repairs.
  • Represents Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, remaining friendly and courteous in all customer and coworker interactions.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment to protect from injury.
  • Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License, CDL preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Self-Motivated
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to walk up and down one full flight of stairs to reach office areas, storage rooms and meeting rooms.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate tools.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull.
  • Ability to see with close vision.
  • Ability to communicate with others verbally (telephone and in person) and in written communication methods.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and carry.
