Program Overview:Train & Earn is a part of Henry Street Settlement's Education and Employment Services, a $15M envision providing a continuum of services from early childhood education through adult workforce programs designed to assist individuals in obtaining the skills necessary for lifetime self-sufficiency. The overall goal of the WIOA-funded Train & Earn Program is to provide comprehensive occupational and work readiness training for out-of-school-out-of-work (OSOW) youth 18-24 to gain entry into high-growth occupations tied to in-demand sectors. Occupational training must be tied to one sector, and Henry Street Settlement's is industrial & infrastructure, and specifically in Building Automated Systems Management. This work takes form via collaboration with our longstanding training partner, Stacks & Joules.Position Overview:The Train & Earn Social Worker is an integral part of the Train and Earn program and the core function of the role is to provide an assortment of clinical and case management interventions that help youth complete a highly technical skills training program, engage in a industry based worksite experience and sustain employment for at least one year post training completion. The Train and Earn Social Worker will develop strong relationships with participants, conduct assessments and initiate provider referrals to help reduce the onset and intensity of barriers and support positive, life-changing employment and continuing education outcomes. The Social Worker will work in tandem with the Success and Achievement Coordinators and report to the Director of programming.Qualifications:
- Master's Degree required; LMHC, LMSW or LCSW required; SIFI a major plus
- Bilingual a plus
- Three or more years of experience in social services, youth development, or related field; Experience in non-profit preferred
- Two or more years of experience providing individual counseling, group counseling, and case management with high barrier populations
- Ability to assess, support, build relationships, and employ healing centered engagement with youth of various backgrounds
- Diverse cultural competence required
- Experience collaborating with clinical and therapeutic professionals to support client success
- Familiarity with HIPAA and FERPA regulated practices of data collection and management of client information
- Skillful usage of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask with efficiency and efficacy
- Self-motivated with the ability to be resourceful, efficient, flexible, and effectively work under pressure
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with staff members across multiple programs and program sites
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to support programs, meetings, and activities at multiple sites across the Henry Street Settlement portfolio
- Fixed yet flexible schedule, i.e. available evenings, and weekends as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling, case management, activities/workshops and coordinate internal/external referrals for youth (18-24-year-olds) who are enrolled in the train and earn program
- Continuously add youth to caseload as existing caseload achieves goals-minimum 30 and a maximum of 60 young adults will receive some form of preventative or intervention-based service
- Engage and maintain partnership relationships with key program stakeholders, internal and external
- Connect youth to secondary partners for services
- Assist in the coordination of events and program opportunities for youth both in assigned Settlement House and community wide
- Facilitate pertinent workshops and presentations for youth regarding social wellbeing on topics ranging from depression to coping with loss
- Complete necessary progress/case notes and internal reports, maintain caseload files, and enter timely contractual data into required database systems
- Consistently participate in clinical supervision sessions coordinated and assigned by the Learn @ Henry Street team
- Work in collaboration with the Train & Earn team to foster a holistic strengths based approach towards program execution
- Participate in various contractual, program, division, and agency meetings and activities
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
