Job DescriptionTrainer - Warehouse Operations is responsible for identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others for all shipping and receiving positions. Trainers will develop and use agreed upon metrics to measure the success of associates during and after training. Metrics results will be reported weekly.
What your day will look like: - Assures that the employees get the training needed to meet the day-to-day activities and the long-term planning
- Plans, develops, and provides warehouse training and staff developmental programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops, regarding shipping and receiving
- Works closely with warehouse leadership to clearly identify training needs and develop plans to meet those needs
- Provides the materials and resources that motivate personnel to learn
- Develops training status and metrics report for regular communication to department leadership
- Ensures that employees participate in all required warehouse shipping and receiving training.
- Analyzes training needs to recommend new or improved warehouse training programs or modify and improve existing programs
- Conduct or arrange for ongoing personal training and development as needed
- Organize warehouse training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials in addition to testing and evaluation procedures
- Responsible for monthly Safety Training completion for all warehouse associates
- Conduct PIT certification and verify PIT inspections are completed daily for applicable associates
- Partner with department leadership in preparation for new hire interviews
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed: - Minimum of 18 years old
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 12 months to 3 years
- related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
- procedure manuals
- Ability to become certified in forklift, riding pallet jack, and motorized vehicles •Ability to work in a team environment, resolve conflicts, possess effective communication skills, i.e.
- verbal, reading and writing, as well as calculating figures and percentages.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, planning, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
- Ability to problem solve
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
- Training Needs Analysis, evaluation, and transfer of learning
- Facilitation of instructor-led and self-paced learning
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for
- individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
